XYLAZINE & MEDETOMIDINE

Xylazine and medetomidine are powerful animal sedatives that are commonly found in Ohio’s drug supply. They are often mixed with fentanyl but can occur with any drug. Xylazine can cause necrotizing wounds that require care. Both sedatives can complicate revival from overdose. Here’s some resources to help you recognize and care for xylazine wounds and to effectively bring people back from overdoses involving xylazine or medetomidine.
